Top Ranking Box Office Victory At The Movies

By Alex K Rose

Just because a motion picture made a ton of cash at the box office it does not automatically mean that you will love it. Judgment in films is a very personal opinion but the films that have the premier triumph at the box office are the ones that have touched the most persons and these are the films that have achieved the record degrees of success in the authentic world.

The topmost grossing movie of all time did not make the most cash of every film for all time. That is of course, because the top-grossing film of all time was filmed in the past in 1939. Inflation has increased severely since that generation and the box office proceeds from that time were much less than box office take from up-to-date time.

Adjusting for the inflation of the preceding 70 years, the most profitable picture from all time is "Gone with the Wind" from 1939, starring Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O'Hara and Clark Gable as Rhett Butler. Modified for inflation this motion picture has grossed an astonishing $1.45 billion.

The movie that has in fact brought in the most cold-hard money without any change for inflation is "Titanic" at $922 million. Though, with the inflation adjustments for time, "Titanic" comes in at number 6 for all time, which is decent but 5 other movies outperformed it.

Rounding out the uppermost five, at number 2 it is "Star Wars", number 3 is "The Sound of Music", number 4 is "E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial and at the number 5 spot we have "The Ten Commandments".

The rest of the top 10 are "Titanic" of course, at number 6, the summer blockbuster that scared each person, "Jaws" at number 7, "Dr. Zhivago" at number 8. The only horror movie to make the list of the top 25 comes in at number 9, "The Exorcist" and Disney comes in at the number 10 spot with another movie from the year 1939, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs".

In the top 25 movies, both Disney and George Lucas' "Star Wars" movies have done well. "Fantasia", "101 Dalmatians" and "Mary Poppins" are from the Disney studios and "Return of the Jedi", "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Star Wars: Episode I-The Phantom Menace" join "Star Wars" on the list of top 25.

These are all some of the best pictures from all times. If you haven't seen them yet, you may not be able to find them at your neighboring video store but you can now download the whole top quality movies right away to your computer from a dependable and fully officially permitted movie download site. - 26221
