Free Online Marketing Tips and Tricks For Small Business

By Wally Anderson

Small business owners need to make every dollar count. Utilizing some of the free marketing options that are out there like social networking, free sites and more will stretch your marketing dollars!

Using free websites like Squidoo, Yahoo360 and Google Sites are a great way to increase your online exposure. The fact that you can set these up in a matter of minutes is incredible and the further fact that they are free is AMAZING! The point of using these different sites around the internet is to have a web of properties where people can find your product or services and contact you.

Using free blogs is a way that you can generate qualified leads for your business. There are numerous services out there like wordpress and blogger which allow you to send out information on a regular basis. The best part of a blog is its ability to PUSH information out to the search engines, as opposed to websites where you have to wait for the search engines to come list you.

Social Networking is the latest rage and there is no better free marketing than connecting with past friends, clients and even prospects online. Facebook and Twitter have a large number of users so they are a great place to start. LinkedIn is a good spot for business to business marketing. It does take some time to build up a following, but the rewards for doing so are huge.

Using your email signature line is a great way to drive traffic to your websites! Make sure to include a link to your website or blog, in addition to the normal contact information like name, email address and phone. Better still, include an offer that will increase the chances that someone click. Offer a free video or whitepaper that will be beneficial to people in your industry.

Article marketing is also a way to build your online brand, reinforcing the fact that you are an expert in your market. There are many free article sites and they tend to rank highly in the search engines. When you write an article, make sure that you are focusing on the keywords that you are trying to rank well for online.

One major thing small business owners forget is have a link on any websites that belong to associations or clubs that they belong to in real life. If you are given a link for being an Elk, Lion or Rotary member, take advantage of that and check and make sure it is working correctly. Most Chambers of Commerce will offer you a link and many networking groups also offer a link.

It does not matter which method of free marketing you choose to employ, be it free websites or blogs, social networking or article marketing. Everything you do online will increase the chances that someone will find your site or contact information and call for your products or services. - 26221
